(Nashville, TN) February 10, 2012 - Gateway Church, one of the fastest growing churches in America with 24,000 members, has united the heartbeat of the church with their powerful expression of worship to create gatewayNEXT, which is changing the definition of worship for young people and building the next generation of worship leaders. gatewayNEXT is set to release their first record Look Up through in:ciite media/ EMI-CMG Distribution on March 27, 2012.
"Training up our kids to worship God is a great way to set them on the path to a life filled with His presence and His love," said Thomas Miller, associate senior pastor, Gateway Church. "The brand-new project by gatewayNEXT entitled Look Up is designed to ignite a passion in our kids to worship God so that they can have a first-hand experience with God that will change their todays and their tomorrows."
Look Up contains 10 new worship songs written by the Gateway team of songwriters. The fresh and compelling sound features Kari Jobe, Dara McClean, Anna Byrd, Cody Carnes, Matt Birkenfeld and more. The songs from gatewayNEXT represent an age demographic transitioning from childhood Bible songs to contemporary worship songs. Pre-teens can finally find music representing their desire to mature while remaining true to their spiritual lives.
"To see the talent in songwriting and worship leading begin with the children at Gateway Church and grow into the solid, mature platform you experience with Gateway Worship is true inspiration, and we here at in:ciite are humbled to be even a small part of this new movement in kids' worship music," said Amy Stansell, marketing director at in:ciite media. "gatewayNEXT is not only a collective group of amazing leaders and songwriters, but it is a generational-impacting worship experience that will move in the hearts of the very small and strengthen those very hearts to impact the kingdom for years to come."
The title track, "Look Up," is the first radio single from the new CD and will be released to CHR radio March 2012.
Dana Johnson, Gateway's children's worship pastor has been added to the lineup to lead a workshop at the National Worship Leader Conference in Leawood, Kan. July 16-19, 2012 on the "Tomorrow's Leaders" track. For more information on gatewayNEXT, visit www.gatewaycreate.com or www.gatewaynextworship.com.
